OB Internal Exam?

Hi,
Curious, how many of you ladies' OBs gave you an internal exam and Pap smear on your first pregnancy visit? Is this routine and normal?
I'm 10 weeks pregnant & my OB conducted one (2 days ago) and I've been spotting ever since. Have not had any spotting during my entire pregnancy thus far, so I'm kind of upset about this. 
If anyone can let me know their experiences on this I'd really appreciate. Thank you.

Both are normal. Pap smear are actually pretty standard. But every doctor is different of course. 
My obgyn told me I -could- experience spotting for up to 5 days after a pap smear test. I sis spot for 2 days.  That was at my 8 week visit. I'm 18 weeks 3 days, and have not spotted since.

It's routine to have one at your first visit. Also spotting is completely normal afterwards.

It's pretty standard. And spotting is normal. Your cervix has all this extra blood flow and is so sensitive right now so it's very common to spot.
