Clogged duct? (Pictures)

I've had a clogged duct for weeks now, and it is so painful! I've seen my midwife and a Lactation consultant, LC suggests lecithin and if it doesn't clear by the weekend to get in touch with a breast specialist to get it drained. Anyone else had one this bad? How did you clear it?

Its going to hurt but a bunch of massaging and feeding or pumping every 2 hours. That's what my doc is having me do anyway. I have to have my DH do the massaging because I have a hard time putting myself through that much pain and don't end up pressing nearly hard enough. Good luck.

Moist heat and massage, maybe get your husband to do it because it needs to be firm pressure. I had one in the side of my left breast and it was agony, I had heat on it then massage with my knuckles toward the nipple for 5 min, then pump over and over again for two days, it finally broke up.

Lecithin!! I had mastitis at 1 week postpartum and it was awful. I took four 1200 mg capsules in the morning until it cleared then kept taking them for a week after symptoms and then dropped it down to three caps daily. I haven't had any issues since and others swear by it as well. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies everyone! Turns out it was a little too late, and it turned into an abscess. Had to have it drained this morning.. Very painful! But now I know what to do next time I get a clog! I've stocked up on lecithin so hopefully I never get another one!

Drink 100% pineapple juice daily along with taking Lecithin.

I took lecithin 1x 1200mg a day and o stayed on it for about a month and a half to keep my milk fat running through my breast. I had mastitis 4x and blocked ducts continuously over 3.5 months. That is what helped the most.
