When to buy a crib

Question

I'm 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant, and we're using a cradle. But I want to get a crib and get the nursery set up before the baby is born. But my mom is trying to convince me to wait until the baby is growing out of the cradle before I buy a crib... But I feel like I won't have the time, money or energy to get the crib when that time comes.... Any ideas?..

I'd honestly get the crib now and set it up while you can. Because once you're not pregnant anymore, you'll probably not have enough time.

I ordered mine early, but they delivered the wrong one. The one I wanted was on back order and I didn't get it until my baby was 3 months. Which was fine for us because baby was still sleeping in her bassenet next to me for night feedings.

Even if you have it and it's set up, you won't know when you'll use it. It'll all depend you and baby's schedule. :)

We have ours already even though we are using our pack and play first. We got it second hand with a matching dresser for 250. And it's a convertible crib so it will grow with him. We got it around 26-30 weeks.

I wish I would have waited to buy a lot of things, including a crib! I went the whole nine yards and set up a great nursery and bought a whole set of furniture, crib, dresser, changing table, matching rocking chair and my son never even slept a single night in his nursery! He ended up co-sleeping with us and its been great! He's just turned 2 and we are transitioning him from our bed to a toddler bed.

whenever you feel ready to.. I bought mine at 20 weeks because I want to get all the major things out the way and I'd also like to have the nursery set up since we plan on sleep training.

I'm 28 weeks today and my dad is buying it today. I think I would go crazy if was to wait. I'm already being a little impatient about it. my baby shower I will be in a week and then I'll have everything set up after.

I set mine up around 35 weeks and I was glad as we did. I had him in our room for 5 weeks but was planning on 3 months. He was just a noisy sleeper and I was not healing well when I would slid up in bed to sit while nursing (6-7 stitches). So I moved him to his crib and things went better for both of us.
