Rant alert - 'I want a surprise!'

Why is it that some people seem to look down those who want to find out the sex early? I've noticed a lot of people give me this condescending look and say 'oh do you want to find out? Would you not rather it was a surprise?'. Firstly, no I'd rather be prepared and feel it'll help me bond with the baby if i know what I'm having and can name him/her before they arrive. Secondly, how is not a surprise if you find out early? It's still a surprise! I don't know what I'm having just now, so why would it not be a surprise? I'm just having the 'surprise' earlier. Okay rant over. And breathe ........
