Carseat Expired After 6 years?

Hello. I bought a car seat 6 years ago and used it with my first child. I am due in August and was wondering if I have to buy a new one or can I use the old one? I didn't find the expiration date on it.

Infant carseats expire after 5 years and convertibles typically expire after 8-10 years. So yes if it was an infant carseat it needs replaced.

My infant seat is 5 years. Convertibles might be longer. Personally I would just buy a new one. If your going to spend money anywhere it should be on that.

The manufacture date should be printed on the seat. Google that with the brand and model. But in all honesty you should consider buying a new seat.

Google the manufacturer's site, you should be able to find a list. I've seen some have 7 yrs.

I think they're usually "good for 6 years" I didn't even know car seats had expiration dates when I had my first 2 kids who are 7 and 8...my fiancé is super protective and made me check the car seats we've gotten from friends..luckily they were bought the last 2 years lol

Most have a life of five years mine is from 2015 to 2020
