I got my lip pierced a week ago, the second day I noticed it was really red, swollen, and draining a little lymph that was crusting around the hole. I clean it at least 2 times a day (usually more than 4) and I'm worried it's getting infected. It has a really red ring around the hole, it's draining so much lymph (questioning if it's pus now) that the ring won't move unless I take a warm rag and clean it off the piercing. The large hoop the gave me kept getting caught on the blanket when I slept so I decided to change it out. I know they tell you to wait but I thought maybe that was why it looked so irritated. It's only been a few hours since the switch and it looks about the same. I keep cleaning it more and more but the drainage, crusties, and redness is just getting worse. Also sometimes it itches. Is this normal for a lip piercing or should I be concerned?
