First ultrasound!

I went to my first ultrasound an Dr said that I'm probably not 9weeks as we all thought that I'm more like 6 weeks cause baby is small(to small to even measure) so I'm now confused my LMP was march 17!...... Have to go for another ultrasound in 3 weeks....has anybody been though this???
