Middle School Prom

Okay. I'm in the eighth grade and school is almost over. That means prom is coming up for me. I have to go because my mom wants me out the house. I don't mind, but everyone is going over the top with limos, and stuff like that, but I don't see the whole excitement... I'm going in a simple dress, no heels, no make up unless its lipstick, no limo, and my date is going to meet me at the school. My classmates think its lame, but I don't see the point. Its middle school prom, not high school. Anyone think I should go overboard?
