When can you hear the heartbeat?

So I go in for my first appointment on June 8th. I will be 9 weeks and 4 days will Doppler be able to pick up a heart beat?

Answer

You can hear it on an ultrasound at around 6 weeks.  You can't hear it with a Doppler until closer to 12 weeks.  You might get lucky and catch it sooner, but it's not very common.

I bought a Doppler and heard my baby's heartbeat at 9 weeks 3 days. Saw it on an ultrasound much sooner though. The Doppler was the best purchase I could have ever made.

We listened to the heartbeat using Doppler at my 2nd prenatal visit, when I was 12 weeks 2 days. They didn't even try at my first visit, when I was 8 weeks- I assume bc it's hard to hear that early.

I had an internal ultrasound do to a miscarriage last year but they could hear the heartbeat at 6w3d. Heartbeat was 120bpm

I hear my daughters at 7 weeks and saw my second daughters at 6 weeks.

I heard my baby's heartbeat at 7wks 2days by a vaginal ultrasound and it was 166bpm!! ☺️☺️ so you should be able to ! Depending on the type of ultrasound you recieve! 💜
