Is there any way of guessing how big your baby will be?

I was only 6 lbs when I was born, and my mom and grandma are both very tiny also. I've been buying mostly newborn clothes assuming my baby will take after us and be a small baby too. Or is this dumb? Lol I've been buying 0-3 month things also, just haven't bought any 3-6 month or above.

My dr ball parked my little girl to be at or just under 6lbs due to her measurements at 29 weeks. She said she'd do another ultrasound and belly measure in two weeks to check on growth.

Just to be safe I would buy one or two newborn and one or two preemie outfits. When my first son was born he was 6 pounds, but then lost weight before we left the hospital. I couldn't find any premie clothes at that point and the poor kid was swimming in every thing else! So when I got pregnant for the second time I made sure to buy a few preemie outfit just in case, and they absolutely came in handy! He was 6.10 and up to 5.10 by the time we left the hospital
