Was your baby a preemie and how much did they weigh?

My twins were born at 37 weeks. 7lbs5oz and 6lb1oz. My first son was born at 38weeks. 7lbs3oz.

To answer your question, no. You're not allowed to stay in NICU with baby.  But you can practically live there. We could visit anytime day or night and stay as long as we wanted. 
I would go in the morning for 4-5 hours, go home for lunch and a nap. Then my hubby and I would go back up after he got home from work for another 4-5. We were lucky because we only live 20 minutes from the hospital.

I haven't had mine yet but I was also born early, my due date was December 11th and I came November 13th. I didn't have to stay in the NICU at all and I was perfectly fine and healthy, just a little small at 6 lbs. I wasn't even considered premature I don't think.

I was born 6 weeks early, 3lbs 15oz.  Forty one years ago the rules were a little different than now so I stayed until my due date. Other than being jaundice, I was healthy. 
My son was born at 39 weeks and weighed 6.5lbs. My daughter born at 33 weeks and the day before my 40th birthday weighed 4.1lbs and stayed in NICU for 18 days. She was perfectly healthy (and still is). She couldn't burp was her only issue (it's actually fairly common in preemies).  
I have tiny babies compared to averages. But I'm only 5' and hubbys only 5.6'. Genetics play a huge roll in size
