Membrane stripped?

FTM, I'm 39 weeks and I've had NOTHING! No signs of labor at all. No Braxton hicks, no cramping, no mucus, just nothing. I've been walking non stop to try and get things moving. I haven't been checked yet and my next appointment is Wednesday. If having my membrane stripped isn't offered, should I ask the doctor to do it?

Is this your first baby? It's totally normal to not have any signs yet. I went to 42 weeks with my first and the day I had him (ultimately by csection) I wasn't dialated or even thinned whatsoever. Never lost my mucus plug or anything. I've heard of women having zero signs and BAM next thing they know they're in labor. It can change fast, hang in there!

I've had two babies both were a week overdue with no signs of labor, if you haven't delivered by 40 weeks they can induce you the following week.

Definitely ask! If your cervix is dilated at all and thinned out enough your doctor can do it. Mine did it with my last pregnancy when I was 39 weeks and I went into labor 3 days later! My dr was going to do it last Thursday (37 weeks, due to problems) but my cervix wasn't thinned enough for him to do it. Fingers crossed for Tuesday! Haha

Totally ask for it! It doesn't work unless your body is ready for it but it can't make anything worse. I got mine stripped on Thursday at 38 weeks. Didn't work but I know tons of people who've gone into labor the night of or next day so it's worth a shot. I think my babies are just stubborn because it didn't work with my first either.
