Delaying babys first bath

ashley
I was just reading an article about delaying the baby's first bath. Its stating that it causes stress and washes away stuff that can help protect your baby in the hospital. Also it says that taking the first bath with the baby can be wonderful which I'm sure it is. Has anyone here ever done this delayed bath stuff???

I waited till day 10 (really babies do not get dirty unless they are pukers) we used a cloth to spit wash until then. Also we left the Vernix on him and rubbed it in. When he did have his first bath we filled the tub so my husband and him could bath together.

Lol I was more then glad my husband wanted to as I breastfed so he could do something with the baby. Also I had stitches and getting in and out of the tub hurt. Nor did I want him to be in a bath with my healing Vajayjay

I'm putting in my requests not to have her first bath administered for at least a few hours. If it grosses anybody out to where they don't want to hold her, oh well! More cuddles from her for me and daddy! 😋

We were in the hospital for 3 days after my second was born and she didn't get a bath until right before we left, my kid has been strange since day one because she seemed to absolutely love her bath, she was fussy before hand but as they were washing her off she calmed right down and has been that way with baths since then lol. My whole family knew she didn't have a bath when they came in and it didn't stop a single person from holding her :)
