I like him but he's not responding

This guy I like came over and we spent the evening together like we do once or twice a week. He texted me shortly after leaving saying he had to move with his family about 45 minutes away. He then asked why I was a little upset and I replied and he never even read that message. I've sent him a few more over the course of a week. Still nothing. Here's the thing, for some reason he and I never exchanged numbers. (We've known each other for years.) We can only talk through Facebook. I did an app update and suddenly my messenger isn't functioning properly. Is it possible that he isn't getting my texts? Did I do something? He usually texts me all day long. I don't know if I messed up or if something happened.
