Hcg levels

So after a chemical pregnancy how long did it take for your levels to drop. Its been almost two weeks and I still getting strong positive. My levels where only at 24, shouldn't they have gone down by now?. My doctor told it take a few days. And today out of know where I had brown discharge when I wipe. Should I be concern? Don't see the doctor for another week. Can u get pregnant while ur hcg levels are still above 5?
