What do real contractions feel like? FTM here!

So I was having Braxton hicks today and they didn't hurt, but I had one earlier but my whole stomach hurt a little all over. Like a pinching pain, but not too bad. And it also made me feel like I needed to go #2. Sorry, TMI. So what did your contractions feel like?

They start our like period cramps then turn into the worst cramps you've ever had!

Definitely start out like period cramps and just get intense with me by the time I couldn't stand it anymore I was at 10cm dilated and she was here it all happened so fast but worst pain I've EVER felt there's just nothing to compare it to

Very bad period cramps mixed with constipation cramps was my experience.

As the other poster said, mine started by feeling exactly like period cramps and just got stronger. I didn't feel the contractions anywhere other than my cervix until I was fully dialated and baby was starting to descend. I don't know if that's how it is for everyone but that's how it was for me.

My Braxton hicks don't hurt but they do take my breath away. Totally different from a labour contraction.
