Sleeping babies while breastfeeding
I keep seeing people say things like strip baby down to make them cold, tickle their neck, flick their feet, rub ice on their feet, rub a cold damp cloth on their chest.... seriously... why do we need to make baby uncomfortable if they're a little sleepy? Most of the time it doesn't even work. You rattle their cage for like a second, but they go right back to being sleepy.
Instead, try breast compressions. Find a little hard spots on your breast, cup your breast in a C shape & give it a light little squeeze where you feel a lump of milk in your ducts. Continue until baby takes a natural pause & continue when sucks start again. This not only helps baby feed more effectively so you know baby is actually getting milk & not lazily using you as a pacifier, but its also not so rude lol. I'd be pissed if I was sleeping & someone started rubbing my feet with ice!
