Anyone who has worked

In a gas station, convenient store, or truck stop has probably had to say these at least once.

"The prices are high because this is a convenient store. Meaning it's convenient for you to not have to run all the way to Walmart. Not convenient for your money"

"No, I can't mark the price down for you"

"Yes, I'm sure there isn't any the back"

"I'm sorry, but when you pay at the pump with your card, the bank usually holds a fee off until it goes through. It will go back on your card. No, I cannot reimburse it from the register. Let this be your lesson"

"Your card was declined" at which point you hear a story about how it just had 30 dollars on it. "I'll try it again... It was still declined"

"Do you have a receipt? Then I can't exchange it."

I mean, I love my job, but sometimes I just want to vent, like now lol I have to say many of these daily.

I've worked retail and it's annoying because customers always think they're entitled to a discount. Customer: "You can't give me a discount?! I'd like to speak to your manager"Me(internally): 'You can speak to my manager if you want to, she'll just tell you the same thing I did. Not we aren't gonna give you an extra 30% off lady, Either buy the damn shirt or GTFO!' 😂

When the pump doesn't print out a receipt and the customer gets unreasonably mad about it.

That pay at the pump one definitely. I had arguments with customers about the bank holding money because of them using it. Ugh. So glad I don't work there any more

It's amazing how many grown adults don't realize it. Or they just think I'm dumb enough to be like "oh my gosh so sorry mam let me get that 75 dollars back to you asap"😂

I work in a retail pharmacy. We have a coupon policy and a return policy. I'm not sure why though because if we tell someone no, they call corporate, and corporate makes us do it anyway. There is a horror story going around that this woman tried to return Victoria's secret bras to one of our stores. The manager told her we don't sell them. She called corporate, and he had to give her store credit for an item that not sold in our stores. It's gotten to the point that I just do whatever the customer wants because it will save me a hassle in the long run.

Luckily right now I'm working for a family owned gas station so I don't have to worry about corporate. But when I worked for Loves, OhMyGod it was amazing how many people would try the "I'm calling corporate" and then get told the same thing that me and the store manager had told them

I hated working in the supermarket I did. We had this one time where our shipment didn't come in and this guy looked at me and said "I'm disabled and came all the way down here for this item. I want my item!" I said "I'm sorry sir but I can't give you the item because we have none in stock and I don't know when we will be getting more in." He went on this rampage about how I was discriminating against him. I wasn't, we didn't have the bloody item in stock! It isn't like I can call one of the stores 2.5 or more hours away and have it brought in. That is against the rules.

I never knew when product was coming in unless I asked the receiver, even then it was hit or miss if something was delayed.

I worked at an H&M for a long time and our company policy is that if you can dress yourself you need to have your own fitting room. We were the judge of the kiddo looked old enough to try on clothes for themselves. Usually over 10ish we had the kids go in to their own rooms. I worked the fitting room a lot because I'm just super speedy about it. So I would politely say "we are only allows one person to a room" and I had people literally scream at me, scream at other customers that we think "they're trying to steal the stores cheap clothes" and that we are all stupid as employees. When it gets out of hand we call a manager over and they tell them the same thing. Like I'm not making you mad because I find it amusing. I'm doing this because I will get in trouble with the company for breaking store policy without managers permission.
