Skipping School for cramps????

I am in School. And when I get my period the first 2 days are the worst. I get really bad cramps, is it ok if I skip like one to two of school????

I used to stay home when mine were severe. If I got them in school I would make the nurse call my mom or if I get them before school my mom would let me stay home.

If you don't feel well enough to go, it's not skipping.  It's taking a personal health day. I had always had very painful cramps that would send me into dehydration, bouts of diarrhea and throwing up;this isn't something you should have to deal with in a public place.  Take the day off to rest, hydrate and soothe yourself.  I really think the school system should be more accommodating of these things.

I use to skip school on my first day of my period. But only because I always got really sick on my first day I got horrible cramps like I could hardly walk because it hurt and I was always so dizzy and I couldn't hold any food down I would just puke from how much pain I was in. And that was every period on my first day medicine couldn't even help. That was when I was in high school now I'm 21 and it's not as bad it doesn't happen every period like I've only gotten like that once this year but I have to watch what I eat because I've noticed what I eat affects how I get my period. So now I do get cramps but not as bad I just sweat a lot on my first day and feel completely hot but my cramps aren't as bad so I don't skip class or work unless I really am sick the way I use to be. It's honestly up to you if you get really sick don't go but if they are cramps that aren't that bad go to school. (My mom back then was okay with me not going to school on my first day because one time I went in to take a test on my first day of my period and I got really sick and when I went to the nurse they didn't let me call my mom or anything and I was throwing up and had a fever my mom was pissed) so in all honesty it just depends how your period is.

Would not advise skipping school but you could go to the nurse and tell him/her you have bad cramps and have a parent or guardian get you or call them at the main office just to be on the safe side... Hope you feel better 🌾🍄
