Introducing Brennan Ivan Greenhouse!
Saturday night at around 7 I was feeling crampy but didn't think much of it. I used the bathroom and everything seemed okay until a couple of hours later and the cramps came back. Went to sleep woke up and went to church on Sunday. I was still feeling crampy and they were becoming more consistent, but I had no mucus or bloody discharge, so to ease my mind I went to the ER at around 8pm. I was put on 2grams of Mag and Normal Saline. I was visiting my mom out of town so I wasn't seen my ob, but she did call and told them to do an ultrasound and a vaginal exam. What they found on the ultrasound was that his amniotic sac was bulging out of my cervix into my vagina, but it wasn't broken. I was only 18 and 5 so they told me he would likely die after the bag ruptured and there was nothing they could do. They gave me 2 more grams of mag and a shot to stop my contractions and sent me upstairs. Because of my contractions I was too unstable to transport to my doctor's hospital 1 1/2 hours away. I didn't have many contractions after the mag and the shot so around 5:00pm Monday I was transported via ambulance to my doctor's hospital. The ride was rough and it irritated my uterus and I started contacting again once I got to the hospital. I was dilated at 1cm when they found the bag in my vagina, by 12am Tuesday morning I was 3cm dilated. All I could do was stay on bed rest and hope for the best. I asked for an epidural because the contractions were making me clinch down and I wanted to prevent anything from rupturing the sac. The epidural gave me an instantly awful headache. The CRNA also gave me too much and I couldn't swallow for a good 15 minutes. Instead of giving me the full dose they were going to give me small amounts to see how I would react. The last amount was too much for me and I began to dry heave at this point, 8:30pm my bag ruptured and I could feel my son's feet kicking me. After waiting on my doctor about 30 minutes she allowed me to push on my own and I delivered my son breached at 9:10pm For 2 beautiful hours he was alive and at 11:19 he passed. He was surrounded by love and family. He weighed 8.8 ounces and was 9 inches long delivered at exactly 19 weeks. It's been rough to say the least, but I am blessed to be able to hold and talk to my beautiful son before he passed. I love you Brennan and I miss you.
