Brown spotting??

I was supposed to start my period today but it don't show..I had light brown spotting and once when I wiped. Is af still gonna show her ugly face or could I be pregnant? I tested on Monday but it came back negative.

Update? I am having brown spotting and AF was the 8th last month and it is now the 11th this month with no period. I have very light cramping and light brown/tan spotting, tender breasts that is not consistent, they'll be sore one minute and not the next. I don't wanna test because it's my last test and I don't wanna waste it if it's too early to test.
