When do you tell big brother?

My son will be 7 in August. I am currently 6+4 pregnant. When should I tell my son about the baby?

Ps he has been asking for one for years.

Tell him for his birthday.  You'll be into your 2nd trimester by then and you can surprise him with gender and all.  Also it'll make the pregnancy seen shorter for him because he's finding out not too early.

I would tell your son once you've cleared your anomoly scan at 20 weeks. My reason for this was because in my last pregnancy i told my 11year old daughter and she was extremely excited only i lost baby at 23wks 5days and she was totally heartbroken. It affected her school work and daily life. This time im telling her after 20wks avoids heartbreak god forbid anything arises. I never in a million years thought it would happen to me again but it did and now im super cautious. Not meaning to be sounding on a downer though just with children edge with caution. Good luck
