Ovulating before period?

I know typical ovulation happens two(ish) weeks after the first day of your period but I've always felt like I ovulated 3 or so days before the start of my period. Is this possible? I usually get egglike VD and other ovulation-like signs but I've never considered this to be anything other than premenstral symptoms. Has anyone experienced this or gotten pregnant like this?
