Epidural or no epidural? 🙃

I've bee. Thinking about this the whole time I've been pregnant, I've watched videos to compare the two & ive asked opinions of those who've had it and who chose not to. I honestly want to try it without it because I believe that's how it was intended to be and o want to experience every part of bringing my little guy into the world. I think it'll make it so much more meaningful & memorable. However if I cannot bare it, for the safety of my son & I, I'll get the epidural as long as it's not too late. What are you alls opinions on medication during childbirth? 📝

I'd say just try it without meds and give your nurse the heads up to give you "last call" for an epidural so if by then it really is too much to handle then you can have it but you really won't know until you're in the moment. Our bodies are amazing and capable of soooo much more than we think. I chose not to get one with my first and the feeling afterward was amazing...I'm hoping to do the same with my second. Whether nor not you chose to have one I hope you have an easy and safe delivery!! Good luck mama!

I LOVED no epidural. I got up immeadietly and took the best shower ever! I dont want to risk potential back problems, my back is already in bad shape as it is!

i never thought twice about it and still don't as soon as i got a positive test I KNEW I was getting an epidural. It's not and never will be Controversial to me or a big discussion for me it's just it is or it isn't I'm completely open those like if I get to the hospital and I can deal with the contractions oh hell yeah I will not get it but am i planning on having it yes

This is my first pregnancy, but ever since I was probably about 16 or 17 I've wanted to do a natural childbirth. I don't like taking medicine in general, and the thought of having a needle in my spine just isn't appealing. As long as Baby and I are going to be safe, I'm hoping to go as natural as possible. My birthing room has a whirlpool so in gonna be using that to ease my contractions and backache. Just researching tons of natural birth techniques. Only 15 more weeks till I meet my little man!! 😍

I've had one with and one without an epidural. With the epidural it was relaxing and I was able to sleep, talk (sounding crazy at times lol), and the nurses would come in and check me every so often. After baby was born, I felt a little numb and my 7lb baby felt so heavy because my arms were weak. I did have the shakes as well. Pretty easy labor and delivery
The one without was very painful but the way I felt afterwards was amazing. I was able to walk as soon as possible and I was able to fully enjoy my baby. I thought I would be exhausted but the adrenaline kicked in and I was excited to have visitors. 
I would do no epidural again if I have a choice. At my 20wk scan placenta was low laying and just found out I have gestational diabetes. I may need to be induced or c-section.

At first I was totally on board with a natural birth. Since then I have had friends who have had babies both ways and the natural ones said it was the most painful thing ever. The epidural girls were saying it was glorious. No pain and enjoyed the experience AFTER getting the epidural. So I'm kinda going in wanted to go natural but if I start getting tense and stressed because of any pain I will get the epidural so I can be relaxed and enjoy it. I think labor is different for everyone so if it's not too bad we will go all the way without it. I want the baby to be born into a peaceful environment so if that means an epi I'll do it. No harm no shame either way it's up to you!

Just go with the flow. Start off with nothing and work your way up the pain meds. There's no right wrong or heroes. Birth plans might as well but thrown out the window. Be open minded and see how you go.

I'm not big on pain relief in general but when it comes to child birth, although I do believe it's something that women's body's were created to do, I'm not against pain relief. If you need - go get it! I however have some nerve damage and therefore cannot have any spinal injections that cause temporary paralysis. So it's out for me 😰 I'm a little bit scared but also happy as I can't cave and get one when the pain becomes to much. I'm telling myself that I'll be greatful during labor as I'll be able to move around and change into positions that women who have the epidural often can't.

there's more option besides epidural now they have IV medication and they are great have them with my last and hoping with this one too don't get me wrong if I have to use an epidural I will Good luck

I think every labor is completely different... My goal is to try to labor naturally because I too believe that were made to do endure and bring life into this world.. But I am not saying no to an epidural if I feel as though I need one. Just going to listen to my body / my baby!
