Same thing happened to me in middle school except after like 7 months we grew feelings for eachother and dated for but then  broke up bc he cheated on me with the friend who introduced us so just be careful and if ur friendship with her means more and she's ur ride or die best friend drop him no guy is worth losing a friend over

If you're 100% certain she's secretly jealous, I'd say drop him. So weird the exact same thi happened to me. Back in Junior year of highschool my best friend met this guy and they had a thing for each other, mind you she had just broken up with her boyfriend of 4 months about 2 weeks prior, so they talked and flirted etc and once she found out he wanted to ask her to be his girlfriend she freaked out and realized she didn't wanna be with him after all, so they ended things. During this time they were talking she asked me to talk to him to make sure his intentions were good, and after things ended with her he came to me and asked what happened between them, because he thought he did something wrong and he was pretty bummed about it, and I kinda just reassured him that it wasn't his fault (with her permission of course) and idk we ended up continuing to talk and we became best friends over the next couple of years. I always checked with my friend to make sure it wasn't weird or anything but she was 100% okay with it. She ended up getting into a relationship with someone else and they've been together for 3 years now. So he and I have been best friends for about 4 years and recently started becoming something more. But my friend still doesn't really care and she wants us to be together, so it kinda worked out okay for me. You just have to be 100% certain your friend isn't hung up on him, but if you're not certain, she needs to come first.
