Tongue rings and oral sex

So I have my tongue pierced and recently I slept with this guy and I gave him head but took my tongue ring out before doing so. Two nights ago I slept with someone else and went to give him head but kept my tongue ring in. Does anyone else take theirs out sometimes? Or does it make it harder for you? I feel like it's hurting the dude honestly it scares me but idk. Anyone know any tricks or advice?
