I found out 2 weeks ago

That I was pregnant. I am 4 almost 5 weeks now and all I've been hearing is that I have to watch the cats when the baby is born because they might suffocate the baby. Or I have to get rid of them.
These cats ARE my babies. And yes I am adding a human baby to my fur babies, but that doesn't mean I'm going to get rid of them. But I do plan on watching my babies, and keeping close eyes on all three of them. But honestly, I really don't think my fur babies will hurt my human baby. So I really wish people would stop telling me to get rid of them...

Ugh no that's just an old tale. Kitty will be fine. Obviously don't keep them too close so they don't scratch or bite, but same goes for dogs.

No no. Don't get rid of your cat because it's hard to tell how they will react. If they don't like the baby they will most likely stay away. You'll have to feel it out but I wouldn't just get rid of them based on what people tell you.

You can also get a tent/net thing to put over the crib to ease your mind. If a cat has suffocated a baby, it's out of love, not ill intent. They are just trying to snuggle.

Don't get rid of them. Just don't let them around baby when your not there.. So keep bedroom doors closed at night to keep them out. No need to say goodbye to your fur babes.

I had cats growing up and was fine. We have cats and are not getting rid of ours when our baby is here. We will teach them to be gentle with the baby and vice versa. Don't let others scare you, do what's best for you!
