Bleeding during sex???

My boyfriend & I were in the middle of intercourse until all of a sudden I started bleeding a lot out of no where.. I wasn't on my period obviously & I know the difference between slight vaginal tearing bleeding & being rough. This time it was a lot & I got a bit freaked out cause it was the second time Happening. For sure going to get this checked out but just wondering if anyone else had this experience & what to be prepared for. 🙄
