Where to install car seat?

I know they say the middle is the safest my middle seat doesn't have anchors and is not big enough... So I'm wondering if either side is safer or more convenient for getting baby in and out.

I got a safety check on mine by a police office I work with to make sure it was installed correctly, he said it shouldn't go in the middle. It really doesn't matter whether it goes on drivers or passengers side unless your cars manual specifies. I put mine behind the drivers side. Easier access for me if I have to get out and get to baby quickly.

Everyone says "I hear the safest place is middle/passenger etc." but really the safest place is where ever your cars owner manual specifies. It varies from vehicle to vehicle, so read that and you'll know. Unless somebody has the same vehicle and has read the manual they will not be able to tell you.

I had the same issue. Ours is going on the passenger side. Easier for me to reach her there than behind my seat.

I've read you're supposed to install on the drivers side. Apparently there's been studies showing you're more defensive of a driver on your side

Yes middle is safest as long as you can get a good install, if not the I prefer the drivers side because, I hate having to put baby in on opposite side of car from me, makes me nervous lol. I feel like I watch my side more then passenger side just by nature, and I'm short (5'2 on a good day) and I'm the only one who drives since I get car sick so it allows for the most room for passengers. Now we will have 3 car seats so passengers don't really have any options they get 3rd row haha.

If you can't do middle then passengers side is the next recommended spot - that way when you're parked alongside a curb (assuming you live in the US), you're not opening the door and taking baby out of the car while standing in traffic - you've got the relative safety of the sidewalk instead.
