Membrane sweeping anyone? 😬

I'm 39 weeks today and I'm 3 cm dilated. I told my doctor to go ahead and try to sweep my membranes. That is the most uncomfortable thing ever!!!! This is my third pregnancy and my first time having to do that. She said hopefully it will start to get things going a little bit more. I'm hopeful that it will work. I'm anxious to see this baby boy!!!
Has anyone done it before and did you start labor or felt like it helped to get things started?!

It's never worked for me all 3 pregnancies. But yet I'm doing it again on Friday because I'm an idiot. I will be 39+3 when I get it done

With my second I got a membrane sweep at 39 wks (2nd girl)that night my water broke but no contractions. With my third I got a membrane sweep also at 39 wks(1st boy) but 3 days later I went into labor. This time my Dr did a membrane sweep at 37wks to see if our little man will come early. My first son was 9#14oz at 4 days early and so my Dr said it would be ok to try and get this little guy out a little sooner just in case he is big like his brother. Tomorrow I will be 38wks. But I have had contractions on and off the last week. It mostly depends on if your body and the baby are ready.
