Best carseat?

Question

We're in the market for a car seat - hoping not to spend over $300 - is that reasonable? I just have no idea. Something safe and practical. I've read so many reviews and it's overwhelming. Thanks friends :)

This is the carseat we got, yes it's  $300, but it is suitable for every stage from NB-BOOSTER. So it's 1 carseat to grow with your child until they no longer need a carseat of any kind.

We purchased the Nuna Pipa. It's in the $300 range and has excellent reviews. I did a lot of research and read a lot of car seat blogs, and people are very fond of it apparently. The base can be used with the latch system or just with a seat belt. So it's great for travel or if you live in a big city and use a lot of public transportation. The base has a special stability bar on it that holds it to the floor. It greatly reduces and redistributes the force during an impact. And it's compatible with all of the Nuna strollers. It's definitely on the pricier end of car seats, but the safety features alone are worth a look. It also comes in four or five different colors.

But i think you should invest in a convertible that holds a newborn, because they will only be in an infant carseat for a few months. 
Ive heard great things about the chicco next fit zip, and the graco 4ever carseat.

I would suggest checking sites like bed bath and beyond/buy buy baby, diapers.com or jet.com because you could use a promo up to 20% off. Hope this helps.

Britax car seat- u can buy the car seat (including base)on its own,  or as a travel system  (with the stroller)- Britax is by far above Graco and Chico as far as safety AND looks. . Prices are just about the same really. . A car seat alone will cost around 250 bucks - a decent one that is...a travel system combo will cost u 350...so really. .ur saving money by buying both AND buying the best...

Are you planning on using a stroller or just carrying your little one? If you want to use a stroller, get one that the car seat attaches to! It's so much easier than having to unclip baby from their carseat and move them into the stroller. You just unclip the carseat from the base and clip it into the stroller base. We got a Graco jogger, which has an infant carseat that clicks in and when he's big enough we can use the stroller front facing as well. It was a little over $300 ($330 maybe) but you basically get a carseat, infant stroller, and toddler stroller for that price.

Keyfit 30 is the top rated infant car seat for safety. Here in Canada I can buy it for $300 so it is probably cheaper in the USA! Comes with lots of options for travel systems and many strollers offer adapters so that the Keyfit is compatible. I have also read that it is slightly more user friendly for installation than the Britax B-Safe.

Please don't go with britax. Their older stuff is fine but anything made in the last 6 months is crap. I originally had the BSafe 35 and ended up sending it back because it and the 2 replacement bases they sent were defective. After checking their Facebook page (visitor posts) and Google reviews I found I wasn't the only person with these problems. I don't know if their unde new ownership or changed production plants but I'm thoroughly disappointed. I had worked with Britax for years and months of research were wasted. Now I'll say The BAgile stroller is awesome. When we returned the seat we purchased the Chicco Keyfit 30 and I freaking love it! It came with the infant insert and headrest. My baby is hot natured and would always sweat in the britax  but now in the Chicco he still sweats a little but not nearly as much. He seems a lot more comfortable!

Uppababy Mesa seat is one of the best in the market, so are their strollers. Car seat fits stroller base. So you get a veeery nice travel system.
