Going back to work after Baby is here? How many hours will you be doing? I don't want to lose too many hours (or pay) but want to spend as much time with Baby as possible. What is everyone doing? Please comment your stories.

I was part time to begin with. 12 hours a week, but I'm sure I can pull off less than that if I needed to transition back in.

I'll be a stay-at-home mom once the baby is born. With my fiance's new promotion I won't necessarily need to work, and paying for daycare would literally clear my paycheck. So I'll be at home with her for the first year at least.

I'll be going back full time, but I'll be working from home doing a split shift,  so that will help.

I currently work FT at a nonprofit & also teach distance education 2 classes per semester. Once my son is born, I will take 12 weeks unpaid maternity leave & then return PT to my nonprofit job, mwf, either 20 or 24 hours per week. I will also keep my teaching job, since I can do it from home. Long term, I may try to teach at a few additional universities as well, as I have more children, but for now I'll be PT away from home (& my dad will be with my son). Hubby works FT & plans to stay FT; he gets 4 weeks paternity leave (paid, thankfully, since mine isnt!)

I'm very fortunate that I work for a very family oriented real estate office. Once my 1-2 month maternity leave is up (my choice in length) I will be able to bring my little one in the office with me while my soon to be 4 year old is in preschool from 8:30-1.

I work with specials needs adults working 40hrs a week. A little nervous trying to juggle a toddler new born and full time. 😟 this will really test my patience and ability to handle stress. Good luck to you ladies!

I will be taking 8-10 weeks off then will work very part time, but only while my husband is home so he can watch baby!
