Brown Discharge with Mirena?

I'm on day 5 of having the Mirena in, and today I have quite a bit of brown discharge. I'm irregular so honestly have no clue when my period will arrive. Is this normal with the first days of an IUD or could this be my period, or both?

I've had the Merina for almost 2 years and I still get spotting like that. Totally normal.

Very normal.

Brown blood is just slow moving/oxidised blood.
If it's very light, I'd say spotting. If you need to change your pad/tampon every 3-4 hours, period.
