Preference on doctor?

Does anyone have a preference on the sex of their doctor?  Personally I prefer a male

When I was referred they asked if I wanted a male or female. So you may get your preference. But I too also see more than one ob/gyn. I was told they all do the same thing so it doesn't matter who I see. I've only seen my actual Doctor once.

My OB/gyn's office is pretty big, and has about 5 doctors and two midwives on staff. They let you choose who you want each time--I've been seeing the same male OB/gyn the last two times and really like him.

I love my male ob. He's factual and straight to the point. He won't sugar coat anything which is why I chose him. He's way more attentive than the woman ob in the same practice.

I go to a practice with two males. Love both to death. My friends see women and men at their practice and I have heard the women docs are not as gentle in their exams and have actually made them bleed.

I had a male doctor with my first. He gave me an episiotomy without consent and was a total ass when I had a miscarriage a couple years later. I didn't go back to him after that. I love all the women that practice at the health center that I go to. This will be the third baby that they have delivered.

My fiance and I had talked about it and he's bothered that I've said I feel more comfortable with a male doctor,  when I discussed it with friends as well as my mother they too seem bothered. I posted with the greatest sense of curiosity
