Baby shower help?

Hey everyone... So I kinda have a little rant about my baby shower...
It is on Sunday June 12th! So I've literally had this baby shower date picked out for like 6 months and at first there was a whole bunch of people that said they planned to attend... Now it seems like everyone is canceling the closer it gets... Not even my own mom is going to attend she will be going to a graduation at the Tacoma Dome that day... And it's for some friend she knows daughter not even family... And I just had a huge group of family tell me they can't go.... And yet I moved the location (one I'm not to fond of)  even closer to them because I knew not everyone would be able to or willing to drive very far... I'm just frustrated and a lil hurt that it seems like everyone is blowing it off... I don't know what to do because I feel like I want to cancel but i dont want to seem selfish... But I'm afraid of putting everything together and nobody showing up... Especially since I have to decorate and be down there to "reserve" the spot by 8 am even though the party isn't until 3:30 pm....

Any advice? Am I just being selfish?

I say go and have fun with those that do make the effort with you on your big day. I do think it's terrible that your mother is not attending

I'm in the same boat.... Mine is today and so many people said they were coming that is not coming and I have all this food already made and cake and I just hope it turns out well.

I'm sorry.......... I can't get over the part about your own mother choosing to not be there!!!!!!! That's horrible, im sorry you have to deal with that from family of all people. I really hope you don't cancel it. It's about you and your new life you created. Try to focus on the people who will be there to support you instead of the no-shows :-)

I know exactly how you feel mines is today June 11 and half the people majority family now all of a sudden isn't coming I'm upset because I'd go to their events but Ima enjoy myself. As well as you should enjoy yourself don't let this bring you down I know it's harder then it seems

Your definitely not being selfish! You made accommodations for other people to be able to attend. I wouldn't cancel the shower if I were you because it's a celebration of your new child and your new life. I planned my shower and people cancelled on me or they just completely forgot. I understand how your feeling. Once the shower is over (if you don't cancel it) you will feel so much better or at least I did
