Period and sex?

So I'm suppose to hangout with this guy I've been talking to but everytime were together we end up having oral sex . I'm a virgin so I told him I didn't want to do it till I got on birth control which he was fine with it but I haven't seen him in months and he waited till the last chance to see me before my beach vacation but I started my period yesterday it's light what do y'all think about losing my virginity when I'm on my period ? That's if he tries something . I'm 21 and he's 27 I'm on birth control since April   I just don't know how to bring it up with out it being awkward
