Did I test too soon or paranoid

It's been 6 days since my period I'm on birth control I've had 2 dreams about finding out I was pregnant and I had sex on my period no protection but the past couple days I've been moody,sleeping and waking up at 7 going back to bed at 8:30&waking up at 11 then going back to bed waking up at 4 then 10,pregnancy test was negative, but I've been cramping all day and have the worst headache. so did I test to soon
