Tips for non epidural birth?

I plan on having a natural birth. Have any of you had no epidural? Also, what steps can I take now to make for a easier birth? Tips?

Honestly, I did nothing to prepare myself for delivery and it doesn't help that I gave birth at 37 weeks so I didn't really have time to start. I didn't work out during my entire pregnancy and had a long (22 hours) but really easy labor and delivery. I just made sure I breathed and didn't tense up during contractions. I labored in the tub for about 3 hours and through transition. I pretty much kept the mindset that there were no pain meds available for me to have even if I wanted them. Also that I really wanted to feel the moment my baby entered the world. The pain is a totally different type of pain 😊 and the worst part is crowning, for me anyways. Everyone is different! Once she was out I felt like a total warrior superwoman. Am definitely planning on going natural again.

If you are active during your pregnancy your labor will typically be easier. Also when the contractions come just relax the best you can, don't tense yourself up because it makes it much worse. My first babe was a natural unmediated birth and I plan this one to be the same.

Birth as long as possible at home. Only go when your contractions are 5 min apart and last 1 min or if your water brakes or you start bleeding. Take things to help relax you, music, books etc. Tell your nurse & so that you don't want any medication & if you ask for it have them distract you with a walk etc. & lastly don't feel guilty if you cave & get one. They're really not that bad

Breath!!! Massage or have your partner massage your perineum now up until birth. I didn't do that and wish that I had. Just keep telling yourself its possible and people have done it natural for years and years. You can do it!!! :)

Walk around if they will let you and if you have a shower available use it! I hid in there for about an hour 😉
