Sleep schedule

I am switching to third shift which is typically 11pm to 7am and now I have to change my sleep schedule. Today I was thinking of trying out sleeping in 2 parts. 6 hours in the morning (when I'd get back from work basically) then a few extra hours before work. I have to be awake around 4pm daily to spend some time with my boyfriend. Do you think this could work?
