How to tell the difference between urine & fluid?

Okay so I read if your lying down and feel fluid it could be your waters not urine? Well I'm lying in bed and I can literally feel stuff coming out down there with babys deep movements. I've emptied my bladder and put on a panty liner for now, could this be my waters leaking?

This is my 4th pregnancy and still one of my biggest frustrations. I can never tell either. Every one of my doctors have always said to lay down for 30 minutes, see if it pools, then sit up. If more comes out, call. I've been in for false alarms for water, and every single time it was pee. Ugh. The joys of pregnancy ;) Id definitely call your doctor though because it sounds a little more like fluid than urine.

Hmm. I would say it sounds like water except you say it comes out when baby moves around, which kind of sounds like it could be baby pressing down on your bladder, even though you said you emptied it that doesn't mean it's 100% empty. Have you smelled it to see if it smells like urine ? Try peeing again as well. If it keeps happening and you're not sure I would call the doctor and see what they say; they may want you to come so they can do one of those strip tests to know for sure.

It's not always easy to tell. I could be laying down and feel fluid leaking and usually it's just tons of watery cm. When my water broke with my first son it smelled like semen.

Everything I've read says that your water has a sweet smell.

My doctor said to just smell it and you'll know if it's urine or not. Probably best to contact your doctor or midwife though.
