Epidural questions!

Hi ladies, I will be induced in 2 days (40+4) and will need to have an epidural. Do you know how long you are unable to walk around after it (like to shower after the birth)? Also, l was only at 2cm when my OB examined me at 40 weeks and I'm worried the induction will be really slow and traumatic. OB said they will insert the gel at 6am, rupture my membranes at lunch time and that I will have a baby in the afternoon/ evening. Has anyone been only dilated a bit and still had a smooth induction? FTM and a bit worried.
