Am I waiting to long?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for a little over a year but haven't had sex yet. We've done other things, and he's been really patient and understanding about everything but I still feel like he wants more. He understands that losing my virginity is a big deal to me because I want it to be special, and isn't pushing me to but I feel like I'm making him wait to long. Most of my friends just gave theirs up in cars and places like that, but that's not what I want. Should I just stop caring about if it's special and go with the flow or make him keep waiting for the perfect time?

There is no perfect time. No matter when you do it, it will be awesome and perfect because it will be your first time with someone who respects you. I had sex with my current boyfriend an hour after meeting him and it was still special because it was our first time together. The only thing that matters is that you are comfortable

I don't think there's a perfect time for that. If you want to make it special, plan it. That's not dorky at all. You could plan a nice date, get a hotel room or something, or another fun idea that you're both into. I don't think that anyone can tell you if you're waiting too long, though, a lot of that is up to what you are comfortable with.
