Baptism Gifts?

Question

My cousin is getting her daughter baptised and I don't know what I'm suppose to do. Some people have said no gift, unless you're a godparent (I'm not), some peole say bring a gift or giftcard, some people say just a card or your presence is enough. What do I do?!
They are having a nice little dinner afterwards at a golf resort (???) which we might attend, I don't wanna go empty handed but don't wanna go with something I shouldn't lol help!!

Its proper etiquette  to give a gift. If your going to any celebration then you bring some kind of gift. If you decide your not going to go but you where invited then you still give a gift.

At least a card I say. We are Christian so my mom always but a child's Bible which I think is beautiful. I plan on getting my godson one with his name on it soon as a gift. I know they can't use it now but my cousins both read their Bibles my mom got them when they learned how to

I'm Catholic. My family and i have given cards with money in them for each baptism we've attended. Same at first holy communions and confirmations. Maybe it's just different traditions?

The children in my family/extended family are always given money that is put aside until they are older.. We are Catholic so we also receive money for First Holy Communion and Confirmation. My children were also given bibles, religious kid books, framed prayers or pictures to hang in their rooms, stuffed animals.

I would bring a gift. Maybe a nice little something that they can give to their child when they grow older like a rosary or special book? Or money for the babes education fund. In my old church it was customary to bring gifts but maybe that is outdated now, this was 15 years ago

Never, in all my years growing up in a Baptist church watching hundreds of children and adults getting baptized, do I remember anyone recieving gifts.

I'm Catholic and in my family the godparents bring a gift. Usually a bible or some other religious type thing. And others usually just brought a card. Some people have money or a small gift (stuffed animals, prayer book, religious story book, etc). I'd ask to see what the rest of your family is doing.

For my baptism I received a children's bible from my god mother and a stuffed animal from my God father. I didn't get anything else. For my first communion I got earrings and a prayer book as well as a crucifix from my grandparents. I didn't get anything for my confirmation or first reconciliation. I did always get cards from everyone and sometimes there was a $20 bill in them.

I don't think any parent of a young child would mind getting money, but at the same time I don't know that giving money is really in the spirit of the occasion, which is a very important spiritual milestone. I think a nice card is fine.
