Is this normal?

I should've had my period 2 weeks ago, but I never started. I spotted for a few days but never longer than an hour and the days weren't consecutive. I would use the bathroom and see blood spots, put in a tampon but when I went back to the bathroom nothing would be on the tampon. This happened on a Thursday, Sunday, and Tuesday. Nothing else has happened since then nor have I had any period cramps since then. Does that mean that I had a very very light period or just skipped one. I'm not sexually active so I know I'm not pregnant. I just didn't know why my body did this, because it's never happened before.
