1st Birthday Parties

I'm not sure where to even post this, but I figured this is the good mom or mom-to-be group that would give the best response. How many people do you invite to your child's first birthday, and who did you invite (how much family - parents' aunts/uncles/cousins and their kids? Or where did you make the cutoff?) I have a lot of family, but definitely not enough room for everyone. My family also gets easily offended if they're not all invited to these things, so I am trying to plan ahead. Her birthday isn't until December (I know, WAY ahead of the game), and it's very cold in MN. Because of that, we can't do outdoor stuff :(
