Makeup

I'm making a little more money now so I'm willing to spend more on makeup. Plus since I don't go out much and can't really wear it where I work. But wonder what's some good makeup to get(more foundation type stuff)to get? I'm not looking over the top expensive but something a little more than drugstore like I usually get. And noted I've always had acne and want it covered(as much as I can)when I do go out,and mostly something that's not going to make my skin worse.
