Tampon Help?

I'm 20, and I've tried tampons before with few issues. I prefer pads, but I've used tampons for days when I'll be swimming or something. Today I decided to try tampons again, and immediately after inserting it, I got a weird, nauseous feeling in my stomach that went away directly after taking the tampon out. I also got a strange pain in my vagina/lower pelvic area. Does anyone know why this could be?

I've been thinking it was the size of the tampon. My flow's been really light lately, so that's probably why. Thank y'all!

If it was an unscented tampon, then it was either too light a flow for the tampon you were trying to use or it was inserted at a weird angle. I know sometimes inserting a regular vs a light tampon can make a huge difference.

Could be signs on Toxic shock syndrome. If you have a light flow, use regular tampons or just a pad.

I was kind of in the same boat. It used to hurt when I wore them so I never did until after I lost my virginty. Once I lost that they no longer hurt and now I can't even feel them.
