Mini Pill = Decreased Milk Supply???

Hi Ladies!

I started on the mini pill about a week and half ago. My baby is 1month old today. Ive noticed a decrease in my supply. When I pump, I only get about 2ounces from each breast. Did any of you experience a decrease in supply with the mini pill? Cant think of any other reason why my supply is decreasing.

Don't go by how much milk you get when pumping.. Pumping and a baby sucking is completely different, a baby's suckle is able to get more than a pump. Go by amount of pee & poo diapers and weight gain..

I've been on the mini pill for about 2 months now and at first I noticed a drop but I also think it was because I got my period back. HOWEVER, since I've been on it I now get my period twice a month so I'm going back to my doctor to see what the problem is. Good luck!

I think it has affected my already low supply. Started mini pill about 2 weeks ago, got my period and now I'm having to supplement even more for my baby. Pumping less (yes, I know that's not always and indication) and I can barely get any out when I manually express. 😞

I started minipill at 6 weeks pp. No issues with milk supply. Think I had a "mini period" at 8 weeks pp, and my nipples got really sore. But now at 11 weeks pp, all is well! EBF

My dr said since i was BF she wouldn't recommend taking it, as a lot of her patients had similar complaints that it affected their supply. I ended up getting an IUD, which is a whole different awful story 😂

Is the amount you pump the only sign of low supply?

I didn't but my doctor suggested to wait until 6w pp to start it so my supply was well established.
