Baby weight?

How does everyone on here seem to know the baby's weight? My doctor always just says she's measuring at such and such weeks. Is it weird that I don't know her weight or is just different from doctor to doctor?

It's from ultrasounds but they can be up to 2lbs off. Most people aren't getting ultrasounds at this point unless the dr suspects something could be wrong or wants to check something out, so I wouldn't worry about it! One of my good friends is the u/s tech at my practice so she's given me a few which has been so nice :)

I just had my last ultrasound at 37+2 and baby was measuring around 6lb 10oz

By ultrasound. But a lot of doctors don't do them unless you are measuring off with the tape or have risk factors, such as gestational diabetes. They take a measurement of the baby's head, stomach, and leg bone (femur) via ultrasound and plug it into some formula to estimate weight as well as percentage on the growth chart.

I get weekly sonos and bpp. His weight estimate seems to correlate with my weight and fluid measurements so while it's just a guess, that's how I know.
