are hemorrhoids dangerous?

I know this is pretty TMI for this community but I don't have anywhere else to go. I have been in a financial pickle lately and my parents just kind of kicked me off of their medical so I'm really straggling right now and can't afford a doctors appointment due to my lack of insurance. I have streaks of blood on my poop and some blood when I wipe afterwards, and I also know that hemorrhoids run in my family so I'm just assuming it's that. My poop isn't dark or black so I can rule out colon problems but I know if I go to the doctors they are gonna want to do a colonoscopy. I really can't afford that procedure at the moment but if they can lead to more problems I'll have no choice. I've done my research but I just need some outside opinions on this issue.
